The kit, one of four available now from Anastasia for the holidays, comes with a nice array of eye and brow products put together to create natural, wide-eyed looks.

One pan with a trio of matte eye and brow powders
Another pan with a trio of baked shimmery eyeshadows

A full-size Clear Brow Gel
A tiny tweezers

Anastasia’s known for bodacious brow products, and they’re my favorite pieces in this kit. With the brow/eye powders, gel, tweezers and mini brow brush, perfect brows are just a minute or two away.

As for the rest of the eye makeup here, well, I feel like it’s just okay. I do dig the glowy effect I get with the shimmery eyeshadows, but it’s accompanied by some fallout. That, and I feel like the mascara, despite the great lash separation it creates,coach outlet online, doesn’t deliver the drag queen length and volume I crave.

And when I applied the Cooling Eye Brightener, a creamy highlighting serum designed to soothe, de-puff and brighten the under-eye area, on my dark circles, my eyes protested by watering for about 10 minutes (it felt like when I get products containing menthol too close to my eyes).

Overall, I like the kit’s vibe — like Sunday brunch with the gals — but feel just so-so about some of the eye products. It’s a practical, mostly neutral, aesthetic that looks natural,cheap louis vuitton handbags, not fussy. A girl could pair these pieces with neutral cheeks and lips for no-makeup makeup look, or add a brighter red lipstick for dramatic contrast (perhaps Lancome’s new Caprice?).

The grains in Lush’s lip scrub are just rough enough to easily slough away any and all flakey bits on my lips without being so rough that they hurt. It was one of the best tinted mascaras I’d ever used, adding great volume, length, color AND separation.

Well, guess who’s at it again?

They say lightning never strikes the same place twice. I don’t know about that because Clarins’ latest tinted mascara sure shocked the heck out of me. Wonder Blue ($24) delivers an unmistakable denim blue tint to lashes,Cheap NFL Jerseys, and, again, with great volume, length and separation.

Tinted mascaras tend to be more pomp than circumstance, rarely depositing much color at all. We saw it over and over again this past fall with a slew of disappointing plum-colored mascaras that basically looked black.

Not so with Wonder Blue. It delivers on the promise, adding a noticeable blue tint to lashes,coach handbags factory outlet online, but at the same time still looks kinda natural (as natural as blue lashes can look, LOL,Fake Coach Handbags!).

Blue mascara makes me think of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. United Airlines used the tune in their commercials throughout the 1980s. I always wanted to learn how to play it on piano but never had the chops to pull it off, even though I played for years (mostly against my will).

I LOVE the product names and the overall vibe. It reminds me of the last time I went to the cherry blossom festival in SF’s Japan Town. My favorites here are probably the comfortable Cremesheen Glasses because of how moisturizing they are. Thinner than the Lipglasses and non-sticky, too,The Sula Beauty Eye Crayon in Never Say Never May Prefer Drier Lids Than Mine,Cheap NFL Jerseys, they just feel really, really great on my lips. Whenever I travel by plane, I always bring a moisturizing Cremesheen along to help my lips cope with the dry, recycled air.

Last night I had a makeup dream, except that in this dream there was an ice cream truck, and instead of ice cream it sold the new NARS Multiple Tints ($38 each).

Okay, now here’s where it gets REALLY weird. Instead of applying the sheer, buildable tints to my cheeks and lips, I gobbled ‘em up like they were sweet,Coach Outlet Store, creamy treats!

Available in three eye-popping shades — Beverly Hills (a bright red tint), Cadaques (a bright fuchsia tint) and Turks & Caicos (a bright orange tint) — these do look a lot like desserts, don’t they? Kinda like Push Up Pops, yum!

But don’t be fooled by their vibrant shades. Each adds just a whisper of highly wearable color.

I’ve been playing with Beverly Hills, the red shade, on my cheeks (NOTE: I also tried it on my lips but didn’t like the flavor…like an odd mix of concentrated Hawaiian Punch and Sour Patch Kids) this week, and,Cheap NFL Jerseys, impressively, it lasts for a good 6-8 hours! — even without a primer.

For a quick, easy cheek flush, I swiped BH directly from its travel-friendly tube and blended out the edges with my fingers. I gave it a try on top of powder, where it worked aw-ite, but it seemed to excel on bare skin or atop foundation.

Texture wise, Multiple Tint doesn’t feel like the original NARS Multiples to me. The OG ones apply moist but dry to a powdery finish; these,Coach Purses, however,The Sula Beauty Eye Crayon in Never Say Never May Prefer Drier Lids Than Mine, have a wetter texture and a glossy finish not unlike the gel Cheek Stains from Tarte.

Can you remember the last time you watched a sunset?

I couldn’t, so I watched and waited on the back deck last Saturday afternoon with my camera to refresh my memory. Luckily it was a clear day (one of very few lately), and I caught the sun, in a burst of buttery gold,Coach Purses On Sale, peach and pink, slip back behind the mountains.

Such beauty… It moved me to do my makeup! Well, kinda. We were going out to dinner anyway, but what better inspiration than a beautiful sunset, right? I picked shimmery, peachy golden eyes and a pink lip with some random MAC, Urban Decay and Benefit.

Since we were going out, I blinged it up with Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Glitter Liner along the lower lash line (what a nice glimmer of subtle, golden sparkle!) and added Benefit Hoola Bronzer into the crease.

Hello, kinda awesome,Coach Bags On Sale! I think it brings a warm depth to the eyes, especially where it contrasts with something shimmery. If you’re already a Hoola fan, I recommend giving it a try in the crease with your favorite shimmery gold eyeshadow on the lid.

At first I thought a bright fuchsia lip might be too much for the look, but I went for it anyway. You could always take it down a notch with a clear gloss instead.

What’s the verdict on Monday, ladies? Love it or leave it? Mine’s flown by so far, whoosh,Urban Decay Fall 2011- Swatches, Pics and a Fun Tuesday Face of the Day!

Maybe it’s on account of the time change. I don’t know how I feel about Daylight Savings overall, but I don’t mind the extra hour of light at the end of the day. As soon as the weather turns good for good it’ll be a perfect excuse for after-dinner walks.

I love early evening walks because you run into all sorts of random wildlife, some of the human variety, as well as others like this Tabs look-a-like who was patrolling the bushes…
