Celebrity street style of the week: Shorts and rompers - Rachel Bilson, Amanda Seyfried, and Alexa Chung wearing shorts and rompers in July 2010

The summer heat is in high-swing, and the celebs must be feeling it Coach Factory Online, as well: This week, Rachel Bilson, Amanda Seyfried, and Alexa Chung all opted for shorts or rompers, and below, I’ll show you how to get their looks. The best part about this week’s looks is that they feature pieces you can wear both now and into the fall.

Look 1: Rachel Bilson’s Plaid & Clogs

Rachel is one of my go-to girls for outfit inspiration: She always keeps it simple, but still mixes in the latest trends and looks cool without being overdone. The outfit she wore this week while out in Los Angeles is no exception!

The first thing that caught my eye about this look was her clogs. Clogs are back, and in a big way! They seem like more of a fall shoe, so I admire Rachel for wearing hers in the summer, and with shorts, no less! I also loved her jean cutoffs — they’re always a must to keep cool in the summer heat. Paired with her light plaid shirt cheap coach handbags, they give off a classic Americana vibe. Finally coach shoe outlet, the Ray Ban Wayfarers and chain-strap bag worn cross-body style finish off this cool, casual ensemble. Overall coach factory online sale, it’s a fabulous summer look perfect for any college girl.

To recreate Rachel’s look, the key piece is the clogs, since they amp up the “trendiness” factor of the outfit. However, most girls don’t typically walk around campus in sky-high heels — the thought alone is painful! (But more power to you if you can do it!) So while I would wear this look with the fabulous platform clogs to a lunch with my girlfriends or on a date, for other occasions, I would opt for flip flops or flats.

Even without the clogs, the outfit is still an adorable example of dressing for “transitional” weather. This awesome boyfriend-style plaid shirt from Madewell would work with anything — jeans, dresses, skirts, you name it! Also, the denim shorts are a classic, and the dark wash on this pair makes them extra versatile. The Ray Ban Wayfarers tend to pop up in my blog posts, and that is because they are a universal classic, and give any outfit an instant cool factor. Finally, the cross-body bag is a tremendously versatile style and the chain strap makes it appropriate for day or night.

Look 2: Amanda Seyfried’s Easy Floral Romper

Amanda Seyfried tends to lay low, but when the papparazi do catch a glimpse of her street style, she always looks comfy and cute. This week was no exception; she donned a playful floral romper, a tweed cross-body bag, Ray Ban sunglasses, and some eclectic bracelets. On summer days, I know that I want to wear unfussy clothes that don’t involve many layers or pieces, so a romper like Amanda’s is the perfect choice.

The romper I picked to emulate Amanda’s style features a one-shoulder look, which I adore! It really makes the romper unique and a bit dressier; it could easily work for daytime or nighttime. (It also reminds me a bit of Kourtney Kardashian’s romper that I featured in a previous post!)

As for accessories, the shape of this cross-body bag is quite unique, and the weave print nicely contrasts with the floral romper — an ode to the mixed prints trend. Next, I love the eclectic vibe of the bracelets — if you can’t travel to exotic places and indulge in some of the native-made jewelry, these are a great way to fake the look. For your eyes, I chose these interestingly-shaped sunglasses; they’re a cross between a cat-eye shape and the classic Wayfarer shape- genius! Finally, gold flip flops finish off the look, because, after all… summer = flip flops.

Look 3: Alexa Chung’s Dressed Up Denim

Alexa Chung has that fashion-darling aesthetic down: she always looks like she threw random pieces together and yet somehow also looks completely cool.? For a recent evening event, she opted for high-waisted jean shorts, a silky peach blouse with black bra peeking through, thin-strapped flat black sandals, and a leopard-print Mulberry bag we can all drool over. Her style is not quite mainstream, so this look is for the girls who like to experiment, as it has a bit of a vintage and hipster vibe.

Silky peach blouses like Alexa’s aren’t exactly a common style staple, so finding one is a bit tricky: I suggest looking in vintage clothing stores for the best selection. A good substitute is the peach blouse above; while it’s not silky, it has a similar vintage feel and can be worn in the same way as Alexa’s. As for the shorts, these Seven for All Mankind high-waisted cuffed shorts are extremely similar to Alexa’s; however, if you don’t want to spend so much, I also included A&F shorts in a similar wash.

For accessories, the heart Topshop bra is kitschy and sexy at the same time louis vuitton outlet online, with peekaboo mesh on top, but full coverage where it counts. As for the shoes, I diverged from Alexa’s simpler style in favor of bolder ones, and chose these cutout sandals with a slight wedge heel.? A leopard print cross-body bag completes the look.
